Octane AI is a product quiz and discovery platform built for Shopify, sold on a credit model that ran from around $50 to $2,000 a month on its public pricing page when we checked in August 2026, and configured by your own team. BotSupport is a fully managed AI chat assistant for WooCommerce, Shopify and most websites, built and maintained for you against your live catalogue, at around GBP 79 a month at Early Access pricing. Octane's pricing and packaging can change, so verify current figures on octaneai.com.

What is Octane AI, and what does it actually do?

Octane AI is a product quiz and personalisation platform built for Shopify. Shoppers answer a short set of structured questions, the tool returns a personalised product recommendation, and the answers are passed to tools such as Klaviyo, Attentive, Postscript or Recharge as zero-party data. Its own positioning is discovery and merchandising rather than customer service. Checked August 2026.

Octane AI's Shopify App Store listing showed a launch date of 23 March 2018 when we checked it in August 2026, so the product has a genuine track record behind it. It has also changed shape more than once. Forbes reported in August 2020 that the company built celebrity-branded Messenger bots before moving into ecommerce, and that Facebook's tightening of its API after the Cambridge Analytica affair took most of that business away. Shopify's own partner blog, in a case study published in December 2020, describes the cofounders noticing that Shopify Plus brands were trying to build quizzes with the Messenger bot, which is what prompted the Shop Quiz. We are quoting those published accounts rather than inferring motives of our own.

The company has raised outside investment across several rounds. Forbes reported a $4.25m raise led by Bullpen Capital in August 2020, and a press release in July 2021 announced a further $5m led by Javelin Venture Partners, putting total funding at $14m at that point. None of that tells you whether the product suits you, but funding history is a reasonable proxy for whether a vendor is likely to still be around in three years, which is a fair thing to weigh.

As of August 2026 the core of the product is a no-code quiz builder. You define the questions, the answer paths and the logic that maps answers to products. Octane markets its AI features under CORE-1 branding, which its site describes as an engine that learns the structure of your product catalogue and interprets quiz answers in context. At the time of writing that branding covered Smart Products for real-time product selection, Smart Copy for generating results-page wording, Smart Properties for AI-generated customer attributes, and an image analyser used for cases such as shade matching from a customer photo. Feature names and packaging move around, so treat the specific labels as a snapshot rather than a permanent fixture.

Octane also packages the quiz as a Shopping Assistant. Its product page describes three formats: a centred pop-up modal that can trigger on page load, exit intent, scroll depth or time delay; a persistent floating widget; and an embedded version you can place directly on a page. Targeting rules cover URL, referrer and UTM parameters, device type, and new versus returning visitors. That is a well-thought-out set of placement controls and more than most quiz tools offer.

The integration list is strong for a Shopify DTC stack. When we checked the integrations page in August 2026 it listed Klaviyo, Attentive, Postscript and Recart under email and SMS, Recharge, Stay AI, Skio, Loop and Smartrr under subscriptions, Tapcart under mobile commerce, Gorgias under customer support, Zapier and Alloy under automation, and Google Analytics and Meta under analytics. The Gorgias entry is worth noticing. Octane integrates with a helpdesk rather than positioning itself as one, which is a fair shorthand for where the product sits in a stack.

On results, separate what the vendor says from what you can check yourself. As of August 2026 Octane's marketing site cited figures including 5,000+ Shopify stores, a 42% average email opt-in rate, a 77% average quiz start rate, 4x higher conversion for quiz takers and over $1B in influenced revenue. Those are vendor self-reported and unaudited, and a marketing page can be updated at any time. What is independently checkable is the app store listing, which carried a rating of around 4.9 stars from roughly 184 reviews when we looked in August 2026, and G2, where the reported score was nearer 4.6 out of 5 from a much smaller review base. Both move. Check them for the current numbers rather than trusting ours.

Who builds and maintains the assistant, and why does it matter more than features?

Octane AI is self-serve software: you install the app, build the quiz, write the logic, connect the integrations and keep it current as your range changes. BotSupport is fully managed: a person builds the assistant on your real products, prices and policies, tests it, and hands it over working. We aim to do that within one working day. There is no DIY tier.

This is the honest axis of difference between the two, and in our view it matters more than any feature table. Octane gives you a capable builder and then leaves the building to you. That is a legitimate model, and plenty of teams prefer it, but the work is real. Someone has to decide the question set, write the answer options, map answers to products, style the results page, wire up the Klaviyo properties and then test the whole thing on a phone. The third-party reviews we read, including the summaries published on G2, generally describe the interface as approachable while noting that design customisation and deeper flexibility can get technical. That is a reasonable description of any tool with this much surface area, and not a criticism unique to Octane.

The upkeep is the part buyers tend to underestimate, and it is a property of rules-based configuration generally rather than a defect of any one product. Any quiz, Octane's or anyone else's, encodes assumptions about your range at the moment it is built. Discontinue a line, change a size grid or add a category, and the mapping between answers and products needs revisiting. Nothing breaks loudly. It simply needs a person to keep it aligned, and on a self-serve tool that person is on your side of the table.

BotSupport takes the opposite approach, and the trade-off runs in both directions. You do not get a builder, because you are not expected to build anything. The assistant is constructed for you and grounded in your live catalogue, so it draws on the products, prices and policies published on your site rather than a static script written in March. When the catalogue changes, the grounding follows the site. When something needs adjusting, that is intended to be our job rather than a ticket on your team's backlog. Ask us to confirm in writing what upkeep is included before you commit to anything.

The cost of that model is control. With Octane you can log in at midnight and rewrite a question yourself. With BotSupport you ask us and wait for us. Some teams find that restful and others find it frustrating, and it is worth being honest with yourself about which sort of team you are before you choose. A managed service is only a saving if you actually wanted to hand the work over.

There is also a maturity gap running the other way, and we should say it plainly here rather than bury it at the bottom. Octane is established software with years of merchants behind it and a public app store rating you can inspect. BotSupport is at Early Access stage and is pre-launch, with essentially no customer base to point at. We have no adoption figures, no case studies and no reputation to trade on. Judge us on the trial build in front of you, not on a track record we do not yet have.

Does Octane AI work with WooCommerce, BigCommerce or Magento?

We could find no native WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento, Wix or Squarespace install path for Octane AI when we checked in August 2026. It is distributed through the Shopify App Store, and its integrations page lists Shopify as the only storefront and checkout platform. If you are on another platform, confirm directly with Octane. BotSupport runs on WooCommerce, Shopify and most websites that can add a script tag.

This is the question that decides the comparison for a large share of readers, so it is worth stating carefully rather than dramatically. Octane AI installs as a Shopify app and describes itself around Shopify. Its integrations page listed Shopify alone under storefront and checkout when we looked, and highlighted deep integration with Shopify selling plans, Markets, Metafields and Shop Pay. The same page notes that customers can use REST API, webhooks or Zapier to connect Octane to other tools, so it is not sealed off entirely, but that is a route to other tools rather than a route to another storefront. If you are on WooCommerce, Octane is unlikely to be a workable option without a Shopify storefront. That is a question to put to Octane rather than to take from us.

For a Shopify or Shopify Plus merchant, that focus is a genuine advantage rather than a flaw, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. Because Octane has one storefront to support, the product data sync, the Recharge subscription handling, the Tapcart rendering and the checkout behaviour are built once and built properly. Single-platform tools tend to be deeper on their platform than platform-agnostic ones can be, and Octane looks like a fair example of that pattern. If Shopify is your permanent home, depth on Shopify is worth paying for.

BotSupport is deliberately platform-agnostic. It runs on WooCommerce and Shopify, and on most websites that will accept a script tag. The grounding is done against your live catalogue and published site content rather than one platform's proprietary APIs, which is what makes that portability possible. The honest limits are worth stating too: a site with a strict content security policy, a platform that blocks third-party scripts, or a catalogue that is not crawlable will need a conversation with us first. Ask before you assume it will drop in.

One more thing to watch on either side is platform-limited capability, which is a trap in this whole category. Deep order actions, subscription-aware logic and checkout-level behaviour in the Shopify ecosystem depend on Shopify APIs and Shopify-native partner apps. Any vendor, us included, should be asked plainly which of its capabilities are available on your platform rather than in general, and asked to put the answer in writing. A demo recorded on Shopify tells you very little about what you will get on WooCommerce.

Can Octane AI answer customer service questions like order status or returns?

Octane AI is positioned around product discovery and recommendation rather than customer support. It integrates with the Gorgias helpdesk rather than presenting itself as one, and its Shopping Assistant page describes a quiz experience rather than open question answering. If support answering matters to you, ask Octane directly what its assistant covers. BotSupport is built for pre-sales and policy questions grounded in your own site content.

The word assistant is doing a lot of work in both products, so it is worth being precise about what each one actually is. Octane's Shopping Assistant, as described on its own product page at the time of writing, is a quiz delivered in an assistant-shaped wrapper: a defined set of questions, defined answer options and a results page, shown as a pop-up, a floating widget or an embedded block. That structure is a strength for guided selling, because it is predictable, repeatable and easy to analyse afterwards. We found nothing on that page about handling delivery times, returns policy or order status, which is consistent with a discovery tool rather than a support tool. Product scope changes, so verify it for yourself if this is the deciding factor.

BotSupport is aimed at exactly those open questions: whether a jacket is waterproof, how long delivery takes to the Highlands, what the returns window is, whether a fabric is machine washable. It is grounded in the products, prices and policies published on your site, so answers track your live content rather than a static script. As with any AI assistant, we do not claim it is infallible and we would not trust a vendor who did. We expect you to test it, and we fix what you find. That is precisely what the trial build is for.

Neither tool removes the need for a human inbox, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling. The fair positioning is that Octane is designed to turn an undecided browser into a recommendation, and BotSupport is designed to handle the routine questions that would otherwise arrive by email before anyone can decide anything. If you want ticket management, service level targets, macros and a shared agent inbox, you want a helpdesk, and both of these tools sit alongside one rather than instead of it. Octane's own Gorgias integration is a reasonable acknowledgement of the same point.

How do BotSupport and Octane AI pricing models compare?

When we checked Octane's public pricing in August 2026, tiers ran from around $50 a month at the entry level to $2,000 a month at the top, on a credit model where a quiz start consumes a credit and AI actions consume fractions of one, with a 14-day free trial advertised and no free-forever plan. BotSupport is a flat managed subscription at around GBP 79 a month at Early Access pricing, with setup included. Check octaneai.com/pricing for current figures.

The mechanics of the credit model matter more than the headline price, and Octane documents them better than most vendors in this category. Its help centre described the model, when we checked in August 2026, as every quiz start using one credit, with every AI action using a fraction of a credit depending on how complex the task is. Octane's pricing page gave indicative fractions of roughly 0.3 for Smart Products, 0.2 for the image analyser and 0.1 for Smart Copy, noting that longer or more detailed outputs cost more. Those are internal metering details that a vendor can adjust quietly, so treat them as indicative and confirm the current rates before you model a budget on them.

The published tiers, as listed on Octane's pricing page and its Shopify App Store listing in August 2026, were Basic at $50 a month including 400 credits, Plus at $200 a month including 2,200 credits, Enterprise at $500 a month including 7,250 credits, and Unlimited at $2,000 a month or $20,400 a year. Some sources describe higher-priced variants within those bands with larger credit allowances, and Octane's help centre indicated that the Unlimited tier counts credits for AI usage but not for quiz starts. Tier names and allowances are not stated identically in every place we looked, which is a good reason to price it with Octane directly rather than from any comparison page, including this one.

Overage is the one figure where the public sources did not agree when we checked, and we would rather flag that than pick the number that flattered us. Octane's pricing page quoted overage at $0.10 per credit. Its help centre set out a tiered scale instead, with a higher per-credit rate on the entry tier falling to a few cents per credit at the top. The shape is consistent, which is that per-credit overage gets cheaper as you move up the tiers, but we are not going to assert a single rate as fact. Ask Octane which applies to the plan you are considering. Separately, its help centre describes an overage protection setting: leave it on and you are billed for extra credits, or turn it off and AI tools and new quiz starts pause when you hit the limit until credits reset or you upgrade.

The practical consequence of any credit model is that your bill scales with traffic. A quiz that succeeds costs more than a quiz that fails, which is fair in principle and harder to budget for in practice, particularly around a peak trading period. Some third-party reviews we read raised cost predictability as a concern. Set against that, Octane publishes its mechanics openly, and transparent usage pricing is preferable to opaque usage pricing.

BotSupport charges a flat monthly figure, currently around GBP 79 a month at Early Access pricing, with a free trial period. Build and handover are intended to be part of the service rather than a separate professional services line. Being straight about it: Early Access pricing is early-access pricing, and any pre-launch product should be assumed to review its pricing as it matures. Ask us to put the current terms, and what happens to your rate at renewal, in writing before you sign anything.

The cost buyers routinely forget is staff time, and it applies to any self-serve tool rather than to Octane in particular. If a marketer spends a couple of days scoping, building, styling and testing a quiz, then some hours each month keeping it aligned with the range, that is internal time which never appears on an invoice but is real money at a UK blended day rate. That is not a criticism of Octane. It is simply what self-serve software costs to run, and it belongs in the comparison alongside the subscription line.

How quickly can each one be live and working?

Installing the Octane AI app on Shopify is fast. In our view, getting to a quiz you would put in front of paying customers is a separate piece of work covering question design, product mapping, styling, integrations and testing, so plan for internal time rather than assuming install time is time to value. BotSupport is built and tested for you, and we aim to hand it over working within one working day.

Install time and time to value are not the same number, and vendors of every kind tend to quote the first one. Adding an app to a Shopify store takes minutes. Producing something you are happy to show a paying customer involves content decisions, merchandising decisions, brand styling, integration mapping and testing on real devices. We are stating that as our view rather than as a measured figure, because we have not measured it, and any honest estimate depends entirely on how complicated your range is and how decisive your team is. A single-category store with a clear range will move far faster than a 4,000-SKU catalogue with overlapping variants.

The BotSupport commitment is different in kind rather than in degree. We build against your live site, check the answers ourselves, and hand it over working. Our target turnaround is one working day. We say target rather than typical quite deliberately: BotSupport is pre-launch, so we have no long history of delivery times to average, and we would rather commit to a number we intend to hit than quote a statistic we have not earned.

The trade-off is dependency, and it is a real one. With managed delivery you are relying on us for changes rather than logging in and rebuilding it yourself at eleven at night. If you are a two-person team where nobody has a spare day, that is worth more than any feature list. If you have an in-house conversion or lifecycle marketer who enjoys this kind of work, the calculation reverses entirely and Octane's control becomes the more valuable thing to buy.

Who should honestly choose Octane AI instead of BotSupport?

Choose Octane AI if you are on Shopify and your problem is guided selling: complex ranges where shoppers need help choosing, and zero-party data you want flowing into Klaviyo or Attentive for segmentation. It is the more mature product, deeper on Shopify than a platform-agnostic tool can be, and better at structured recommendation quizzes than BotSupport is.

There are several situations where Octane is the better buy, and it would be dishonest to blur them. They mostly come down to being on Shopify and having a genuine product-selection problem rather than a question-answering one. If your inbox is full of "which one should I get" rather than "when will it arrive", a structured quiz is the right shape of tool for the job and we would not try to talk you out of it.

The maturity point is real too, and it cuts against us. Octane has been listed on the Shopify App Store since 2018 according to its listing, carries a strong app store rating, and has taken outside investment across several rounds. BotSupport has none of that history. If a track record and a body of public reviews are part of how you buy software, and for many buyers they reasonably are, that is a legitimate reason to choose Octane and we are not going to argue with it.

Where BotSupport is the better fit is narrower to describe but common in practice: you want questions answered from your live catalogue rather than from a script somebody wrote months ago, you do not have anyone free to build and maintain a tool, and you may not be on Shopify at all. If two of those three are true of you, the managed model is likely to be worth more to you than the extra feature depth. If none of them are true, buy Octane.

  • You are on Shopify or Shopify Plus and intend to stay there.
  • Your range genuinely needs a decision tree: skincare routines, shade matching, supplements, sizing or gifting.
  • You run Klaviyo or Attentive seriously and want quiz answers as segmentation properties inside your flows.
  • You have an in-house marketer or agency who wants control over the questions, the logic and the styling.
  • You need A/B testing on the discovery experience itself, which Octane offers on its higher tiers. Confirm which plan includes it before you buy.
  • You are a larger brand needing formal security documentation, a named account manager and custom onboarding. Octane's pricing page referenced SOC 2 compliance and a custom DPA under its enterprise custom solutions when we checked in August 2026. Ask Octane to confirm what its current enterprise terms cover.

How should you trial both, and what does switching involve?

Run them side by side rather than sequentially. Octane advertised a 14-day free trial on its pricing page when we checked in August 2026, and BotSupport offers a free trial period with the assistant built for you first. They do different jobs, so the fair test is discovery conversion for Octane, and question deflection and answer accuracy for BotSupport.

A practical two-week plan starts before you install anything at all. Pull your last 200 customer emails or chat transcripts and sort them into two piles: help me choose, and answer my question. The relative size of those piles tells you which tool to weight first, and it takes about an hour of somebody's afternoon. It is the single most useful thing you can do in this decision, and it costs nothing.

For Octane, start the trial, build one quiz for your highest-consideration category, and measure quiz start rate, completion rate and revenue attributed to quiz takers against a comparable period. Watch your credit burn during the trial, because that number is your real monthly cost signal rather than the headline tier price. Confirm the trial terms for the tier you are actually considering, since trial availability and terms on enterprise plans are often handled differently from self-serve ones.

For BotSupport, ask for the trial build and then test it adversarially rather than politely. Ask awkward questions about stock, materials, delivery to non-mainland UK addresses, and returns within and beyond the stated window. Check every answer against your own site. If an answer is wrong, raise it. That is exactly what the trial is for, and it is how we would rather find out about a gap than after you have paid us.

Switching costs look modest in both directions, but do not treat them as zero. Data synced to Klaviyo or your email platform generally remains in that platform as customer properties, but retention and deletion behaviour on cancellation depends on the specific integration and on each vendor's own data policy, so confirm it with both vendors before you cancel anything. Removing either tool is normally an app or script removal rather than a replatform, though it is worth checking afterwards for leftover theme code, metafields or webhook configuration that an uninstall did not tidy up.

The switching cost that certainly does exist is the time already invested in building a quiz, which is one more argument for settling the platform question first and everything else second. It is also worth saying that these two are not mutually exclusive. A Shopify brand with a complex range could reasonably run an Octane quiz for guided selling and BotSupport for question answering, and the two do not conflict with each other. If the budget only stretches to one, pick the pile that was bigger.

What should you ask either vendor before you buy?

Ask which capabilities are limited to a specific ecommerce platform, what happens when your catalogue changes, who does the building and the maintenance, what the cost looks like at three times your current traffic, and what the exit process is. Vendors who answer those plainly, in writing, are the ones worth trusting.

Five questions do most of the work in a decision like this one, and they work on any vendor in this category rather than just these two. Get the answers in writing, because a reassuring answer on a sales call is not a contractual commitment and does not survive a change of account manager.

Octane publishes its credit mechanics openly, which counts in its favour, and its pricing and help centre pages are more detailed than most vendors bother to be. Its weakest answer is likely to be the platform one, since we found no native support outside Shopify when we checked. BotSupport's weakest answer is track record, because Early Access means what it says: a young product without an established customer base behind it. We would rather state that plainly than dress it up, and you should weigh it accordingly when you compare the two.

  • Which of your capabilities are unavailable on my ecommerce platform?
  • When I add, rename or discontinue products, what updates automatically and what needs a human?
  • Who builds it, who maintains it, and how much of my team's time does that assume?
  • What does my bill look like if traffic triples, including any overages?
  • If I leave, what do I keep, what do I lose, and what has to be cleaned up manually?

What we checked, when we checked it, and how to tell us we are wrong

Every claim about Octane AI on this page was checked in August 2026 against Octane's own pricing page, help centre, integrations page and Shopping Assistant page, its Shopify App Store listing, and independent press coverage. All of those can change without notice. Please verify anything that matters to your decision on octaneai.com before you buy.

Last checked: August 2026. Comparison pages age badly, and a page that silently ages while asserting somebody else's prices and platform support becomes inaccurate by default. So here is the standing caveat, stated once and meant: Octane AI's product, pricing, packaging and integrations may have changed since we checked. Every figure on this page is dated for that reason, and the sources we used are listed below with links so you can check them yourself rather than take our word for any of it.

We have tried to keep three kinds of statement separate throughout. Things Octane publishes about itself, which we attribute and date. Things we could verify independently, such as the app store listing and press coverage. And our own opinions, such as how long a quiz build takes in practice, which we have labelled as opinions because that is what they are. Where public sources disagreed with each other, as they did on overage rates, we have said so rather than quietly picking the number that suited our argument.

If you spot something on this page that is out of date or wrong, and particularly anything about Octane AI, we would genuinely like to hear about it. Write to info@botsupport.ai and we will correct it. We would rather be corrected than be inaccurate about a competitor. A comparison page that is wrong about the other side is not worth reading, and it would tell you something unflattering about how we treat facts in the rest of the business.

Which should you choose?

Choose BotSupport if

Choose BotSupport if you are on WooCommerce, or you run more than one platform, or nobody on your team has days spare to build and maintain a tool. You get an assistant grounded in your live catalogue and policy pages, built and tested by a person and handed over working, on a flat subscription of around GBP 79 a month at Early Access pricing. We aim to hand over within one working day. The honest caveats are two: BotSupport is pre-launch with essentially no customer base, so judge it on the trial build rather than on reputation, and no AI assistant is infallible, so test it adversarially and tell us what it gets wrong.

Choose Octane AI if

Choose Octane AI if you are on Shopify or Shopify Plus, your range genuinely needs a decision tree such as skincare routines, shade matching or sizing, and you want quiz answers flowing into Klaviyo or Attentive as segmentation data. It is the more mature product, listed on the Shopify App Store since 2018 with a strong public rating, and deeper on Shopify than any platform-agnostic tool can be. It offers A/B testing on its higher tiers and referenced SOC 2 compliance and a custom DPA under its enterprise options when we checked in August 2026. Budget for a credit model that scales with traffic, and for someone on your team owning the build and the ongoing upkeep.

Frequently Asked
Questions

Common questions about Octane AI and BotSupport. Still deciding? Get a free analysis of your own store.

Is Octane AI only for Shopify?

As far as we could establish in August 2026, yes. Octane AI is distributed through the Shopify App Store, and its integrations page listed Shopify as the only storefront and checkout platform when we checked. We found no native install path for WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento, Wix or Squarespace. Octane does note that you can connect it to other tools via REST API, webhooks or Zapier, but that is a route to other tools rather than to another storefront. If you are on a non-Shopify platform, ask Octane directly before ruling it in or out.

How much does Octane AI cost?

Octane AI is priced on credits. When we checked its pricing page and Shopify App Store listing in August 2026, published tiers ran from around $50 a month at the entry level to $2,000 a month at the top, with credit allowances rising accordingly, a 14-day free trial advertised and no free-forever plan. Per-credit overage rates fall as tiers rise, although Octane's pricing page and help centre quoted these differently when we looked. Pricing changes, so check octaneai.com/pricing for current figures and confirm your plan's overage rate with Octane.

What counts as a credit in Octane AI?

Octane's help centre described the model in August 2026 as every quiz start using one credit, with every AI action using a fraction of a credit depending on how complex the task is. Octane's pricing page gave indicative fractions of roughly 0.3 for Smart Products, 0.2 for the image analyser and 0.1 for Smart Copy, with longer or more detailed outputs costing more. These are metering details a vendor can revise, so treat them as indicative. The help centre also describes an overage protection setting: turn it off and AI tools and new quiz starts pause once you hit your monthly limit.

Does Octane AI answer customer service questions?

Octane AI is positioned around product discovery and recommendation rather than customer support. It integrates with the Gorgias helpdesk rather than presenting itself as one. Its Shopping Assistant page describes a structured quiz delivered as a pop-up, floating widget or embedded experience, and we found nothing there about handling delivery times, returns policy or order status. That is different from answering an open question typed by a shopper. If support answering matters to you, ask Octane what its assistant currently covers.

Is BotSupport an alternative to Octane AI?

Only partly, and it is fairer to call them complementary. BotSupport is a fully managed AI chat assistant that answers shopper questions grounded in your live catalogue and policy pages, on WooCommerce, Shopify or most websites. Octane AI is a Shopify quiz platform for guided selling and zero-party data capture. If your problem is questions rather than product selection, or you are not on Shopify, BotSupport is the closer fit. If your problem is genuinely helping people choose between similar products on Shopify, Octane is.

Can you use Octane AI and BotSupport together?

Yes. They do different jobs and we are not aware of any conflict between them. A Shopify brand with a complex range could run an Octane AI quiz for guided selling and BotSupport for answering questions, since one is a structured recommendation flow and the other is an open question-answering assistant. They do not share a data layer that needs managing. As with any two scripts on the same page, test them together on mobile before you leave both running.

Does BotSupport work with WooCommerce?

Yes. BotSupport works on WooCommerce, Shopify and most websites that can add a script tag. The assistant is grounded in the store's live catalogue and published content rather than a single platform's proprietary APIs, which is what allows it to run outside the Shopify ecosystem. The practical exceptions are sites with a strict content security policy, platforms that block third-party scripts, and catalogues that are not crawlable, so send us your URL and we will tell you before you commit. This is the clearest difference from Octane AI, which we found to be Shopify-only in August 2026.

How long does each take to set up?

Installing the Octane AI app on Shopify takes minutes. Building a quiz you would put in front of paying customers is a separate piece of work covering question design, product mapping, styling, integrations and testing, so plan for internal time rather than assuming install time is time to value. That is our view rather than a measured figure. BotSupport is built and tested for you and handed over working, and we aim to do that within one working day, because there is no self-serve build step for your team to complete.
