Rep AI is a Shopify-first AI sales and support agent, metered on monthly site visitors and set up by the merchant. BotSupport is a fully managed AI chat assistant for WooCommerce, Shopify and most other websites, built and tested by a person and handed over working, with a one working day target during Early Access. Choose Rep AI if you run a higher-traffic Shopify store and have someone with time to own and tune the tool. Choose BotSupport if nobody on your team has those hours to spare. Every figure below was checked on 6 August 2026 against the sources listed at the end.

What is Rep AI, and what does it actually do?

Rep AI, sold at hellorep.ai, is an AI sales and support agent for ecommerce, distributed mainly through the Shopify App Store, where the listing gives a launch date of 18 April 2022. It pairs a proactive chat widget that opens conversations with hesitating shoppers with a support agent that, according to its own platform page, can execute order tracking, cancellations, returns, exchanges and address modifications, and it hands conversations off to human agents through helpdesks such as Gorgias and Zendesk.

Rep AI is not positioned as a full helpdesk in the Gorgias or Zendesk sense. It sits in front of one. Ringly's alternatives roundup, published on 3 June 2026, describes the product as sales-first and "not designed as a comprehensive helpdesk", and that broadly matches how Rep AI presents itself: a chat layer on the storefront doing two jobs at once, converting browsing traffic and absorbing repetitive questions before they turn into tickets.

The distinctive part is the behavioural side. Rather than waiting to be clicked, Rep AI watches on-site behaviour and opens a conversation when it judges that a shopper is hesitating or about to leave. Inside the chat it can show product carousels and add items to the basket. Proactive engagement is Rep AI's clearest genuine advantage, and it comes up often in the positive reviews on its Shopify App Store listing. If you want an assistant that sells rather than one that answers, that is the mechanism doing the work.

On the support side, Rep AI ingests the product catalogue, help centre content and FAQs, then answers routine questions and performs post-purchase actions. Its platform page, checked on 6 August 2026, says the order agent can "execute order tracking, cancellations, returns, exchanges, and address modifications while routing edge cases to human support automatically". Its integrations page, checked the same day, lists Gorgias, Zendesk, Kustomer, Richpanel, Freshdesk, Help Scout and Salesforce Service Cloud for support; Klaviyo, Attentive, Postscript, Mailchimp, Omnisend and Listrak for marketing; and Instagram, Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp for messaging. The vendor claims more than 175 native integrations in total.

Rep AI publishes strong headline numbers on its own site, and these are vendor self-reported rather than independently audited. On its AI Support Agent page as of 6 August 2026 it advertised a "5x ROI guarantee", a "50%-70% reduction in support tickets with AI live chat", and "up to 97% of inquiries are resolved automatically with AI running 24/7". Read those as marketing positions with a refund attached rather than as measured averages, and check the current wording yourself before relying on any guarantee, because vendors revise these terms without announcement.

On public reception, here is the snapshot rather than a verdict. When we checked the Shopify App Store listing on 6 August 2026 it showed a rating of 4.7 out of 5 from 92 reviews, with 96 per cent of those ratings at five stars. Those two figures are what the listing itself displays; review counts and averages move week to week, so look at the listing for the current numbers rather than trusting ours in six months. The same listing gives 18 April 2022 as the launch date, which is a longer public history than most AI chat products can show.

Who does the building and the upkeep work?

This is the real difference. Rep AI is a self-serve product: the merchant installs it from the Shopify App Store, connects the catalogue and help centre, then trains, tests and refines it, and keeps doing so as the store changes. BotSupport is fully managed: a person builds the assistant on your live products, prices and policies, tests it, and hands it over working. Our commitment during Early Access is a working assistant within one working day. There is no DIY tier.

Rep AI markets a fast install, and the install does appear to be genuinely fast. Its pricing page, checked on 6 August 2026, promises "Live in 6 clicks", and reviewers on the App Store listing repeatedly praise how little developer work is involved. That is a real strength and we are not going to pretend otherwise. But installing a widget and having a reliable assistant are not the same milestone, and the third-party write-ups we read are consistent about the gap between the two.

Prospeo's Rep.ai pricing and review page puts it directly: "Despite '10-minute setup' marketing, reviewers say it takes roughly a month to optimize properly." SalesRobot's review of 17 April 2026 makes a similar observation in different words, saying the product "takes real effort to train properly. Out of the box is decent, but dialing in brand voice and edge cases is an ongoing project." Both are third-party opinions rather than measurements, and both sites publish alternatives lists of their own, so weigh them accordingly. We cite them once here and refer back to them later rather than restating the point as established fact.

The underlying observation is not really a criticism of the software. It is an honest description of any self-serve AI tool. Somebody on your side has to own it, notice what it is getting wrong, and keep it current when the returns window changes or the catalogue turns over. That work does not disappear because the install was quick.

BotSupport answers the ownership question differently: we do the building. We read your policies, look at your real catalogue, write and test the answers, try to break it, and only then hand it over. If it gets something wrong afterwards, you tell us and we fix it, rather than you learning a configuration interface at nine o'clock on a Tuesday evening. Upkeep is part of the subscription rather than a task that lands on somebody's list.

The honest trade-off is control. A managed model means you do not reach in and change a conversation flow yourself at midnight. Some merchants genuinely want that control, and for them the managed model is a constraint rather than a benefit. It is worth saying that neither product is a fully open toolkit: the reviews cited above describe brand voice and edge-case tuning on Rep AI as an ongoing project rather than a settled configuration screen, and as of August 2026 we did not find documentation of a self-serve conversation-flow builder. Ask the vendor whether that has changed. Even so, Rep AI puts more of the dials in your hands than we do, and that matters if you want them.

Does Rep AI work with WooCommerce, or is it Shopify-only?

As of 6 August 2026 Rep AI's own two pages disagree with each other. Its integrations page lists WooCommerce. Its platform page lists Shopify, Shopify Plus and Salesforce Commerce Cloud as available and states that "WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento, and SAP Commerce are rolling out this year". Three third-party write-ups published in 2026 describe the product as Shopify-only. We could not verify how deep any current WooCommerce support goes, so ask Rep AI in writing before you trial. BotSupport works on WooCommerce, Shopify and most other websites, with no platform pricing tier.

The platform question deserves care, because the vendor's own materials are not consistent and we would rather show you the contradiction than pick the side that suits us. On 6 August 2026 the integrations page listed WooCommerce alongside Shopify and Salesforce Commerce Cloud. On the same day, the platform page listed Shopify, Shopify Plus and Salesforce Commerce Cloud as current and put WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento and SAP Commerce in a rolling-out-this-year bucket. Both statements are Rep AI's own. One plausible reading is that a connector exists while the deeper agentic features do not yet follow it.

Third-party coverage is blunter, and it should be read with a caveat we will state plainly. Prospeo's Rep.ai page says "Rep.ai (hellorep.ai) is exclusively a Shopify app as of 2026". SalesRobot's review of 17 April 2026 calls it "a Shopify-exclusive AI chatbot" and says it is "exclusively available on Shopify. If you're on another platform, this isn't an option right now." Ringly's roundup of 3 June 2026 lists "Shopify-only: Doesn't work with WooCommerce, Magento, or custom platforms" as a reason merchants look elsewhere. The caveat: all three of those pages exist to rank for Rep AI alternatives, so they are commercially interested parties, much as we are. We are reporting what they say, not endorsing it as independent verification.

What we can check ourselves is distribution. The product is sold and billed through the Shopify App Store, the catalogue sync and the six-click install are described in Shopify terms, and we found no Rep AI plugin listed on WordPress.org when we looked on 6 August 2026. That is circumstantial rather than conclusive, but it points the same way as the platform page.

The practical point for a WooCommerce merchant is not whether a connector exists somewhere. It is where the deep functionality lives today. The agentic order actions Rep AI advertises, meaning tracking, returns, exchanges, cancellations and address changes, are described in the context of a synced storefront and order data on a supported platform. If you are on WooCommerce, ask Rep AI directly and in writing which specific actions run on your stack right now, and get that answer before you commit to a trial rather than after.

BotSupport has no platform hierarchy because it is not built as a platform app. It is grounded in your live catalogue and your published policies, and it runs on WooCommerce, Shopify or a bespoke site. We will not claim identical behaviour on every possible stack, because that is not a promise anyone can honestly make: headless builds, login-gated catalogues and unusual rendering all exist. If your site is one of those, we will tell you before you pay rather than after.

How do the pricing models compare?

Rep AI meters on monthly site visitors rather than on conversations, resolutions or agent seats. On its Shopify App Store listing on 6 August 2026 the tiers were a free-to-install Pay-as-you-Grow option with 100 free visitors a month, then Starter, Basic and Standard at USD 104, 209 and 368 per month, covering up to 10,000, 25,000 and 50,000 monthly visitors, with annual billing at USD 995, 2,006 and 3,528 for a stated 20 per cent saving. Each listed tier shows an overage of USD 12 per additional 1,000 visitors. BotSupport is a flat monthly subscription of around GBP 79 a month at Early Access pricing, with a free trial period and the build included.

Rep AI's own pricing page did not show any prices when we looked on 6 August 2026. It showed a 14-day free trial on all plans, a 5x ROI guarantee, an ROI calculator and a demo booking. That pattern usually means the higher end of a product is sales-led and quoted rather than published, though we are describing what the page showed on one day and it may look different when you read this.

The published numbers live on the Shopify App Store listing. As shown there on 6 August 2026: Pay-as-you-Grow is free to install and includes 100 visitors a month; Starter is USD 104 a month or USD 995 a year for up to 10,000 monthly visitors; Basic is USD 209 a month or USD 2,006 a year for up to 25,000; Standard is USD 368 a month or USD 3,528 a year for up to 50,000. Note which way round that runs, because it is easy to get backwards: the USD 104, 209 and 368 figures are the month-to-month rates, and the annual prices are the discounted route at a stated 20 per cent saving. Charges are billed in US dollars every 30 days. Pricing changes without notice, so check the listing before you budget.

Third-party pages quote different numbers again, and we are showing you the disagreement rather than picking the most convenient figure. Prospeo lists month-to-month rates of USD 99, 199 and 350 with catalogue caps of 1,000, 2,000 and 5,000 products, which does not match the listing we checked and which we could not verify. SalesRobot's April 2026 review quotes module pricing of USD 550 a month for the sales agent, USD 250 for the support agent and USD 660 for a bundled concierge. Ringly's June 2026 roundup says pricing starts at USD 440 a month for the sales agent with a full bundle at USD 528. Those three sources do not agree with each other or with the App Store listing, which is what you would expect when part of the range is quoted rather than published. Do not budget from a blog figure, including this one. Get a quote in writing.

The meter is the thing to understand properly. Visitor-based pricing means your bill tracks traffic rather than workload. A flash sale or a seasonal spike raises your visitor count and therefore your cost, whether or not those extra visitors ask the assistant anything at all. The listed tiers each carry an overage of USD 12 per additional 1,000 visitors, and we cannot tell you what happens on the quoted higher tiers because those terms are not published. Ringly's roundup names "session-based pricing" as a drawback, saying costs "grow as traffic increases, making it hard to budget", and some reviewers have flagged the same difficulty. In fairness, per-resolution pricing has the opposite problem, where the assistant costs you more precisely when it is working well. Visitor pricing does not penalise usefulness. It does make November and December expensive.

One public review is worth reading in full on this point, with the proportion kept honest. A one-star review on the listing dated 25 February 2026, from a merchant recorded as having used the app for nine months, reads: "paid for annual subscription - shut me off after 8 months and a certain number of views. I couldn't view billing history or anything in the app. One button was available 'upgrade' for $500 per month." That is one merchant's account of one experience, and it sits against an overall 4.7 average across 92 reviews, so treat it as a minority case rather than the norm. We include it because it describes the specific failure mode that any metered model can produce, which is a mid-term cut-off you did not see coming.

BotSupport charges a flat monthly fee at Early Access pricing, roughly GBP 79 a month, with a free trial period, and the build is included rather than billed separately as onboarding. That is a different currency, a narrower scope and a much smaller product than Rep AI's full concierge stack, so it is not a like-for-like comparison and we are not going to present it as one. What it is, is predictable, which is the property most small teams actually want from a line item they cannot forecast traffic for.

What is the staff-time cost buyers forget?

Self-serve AI tools transfer work to your team rather than removing it. The third-party reviews cited earlier describe roughly a month of optimisation on Rep AI before it performs well, plus ongoing refinement of brand voice and edge cases. At a modest internal rate, a few hours a week of that work can exceed the software subscription itself, and it is the cost that never appears on any pricing page. The figures below are illustrative arithmetic, not published data.

Almost every comparison of AI chat tools focuses on the monthly fee, and almost none of them price the human hours. Yet the hours are real. Someone has to write and check the answers, spot the questions the assistant is fumbling, keep policies current when the returns window changes, and re-check everything when a season's worth of new stock lands. None of that is difficult work. It is simply work, and it competes with everything else on that person's list.

Take the observation from the reviews cited above, that reaching good performance took around a month. Suppose that means five hours a week for four weeks, and suppose your operations manager costs GBP 30 an hour once you load the salary properly. That is GBP 600 of staff time spent before the assistant is performing. Ongoing upkeep of even two hours a month adds roughly GBP 60 a month on top of the subscription. We want to be clear that those are our illustrative numbers rather than anything published by Rep AI or by the reviewers, and your figures will differ. The shape holds for any tool you configure yourself, including tools we do not sell.

This is where a managed model earns its keep, and it is why we think BotSupport suits small and mid-sized stores with nobody to spare. The build hours still exist. They are simply ours, and they are inside the price. The question we would put to a buyer is not which subscription is cheaper in isolation, but which total is cheaper once you count the person doing the work, and, more importantly, whether you actually have that person to give.

The counterweight is fair to state and we will state it rather than bury it. If you already employ a CX or ecommerce manager who wants to own the assistant, that time is already committed and paid for, and the managed model buys you considerably less. In that situation, the extra control of a self-serve tool is worth more to you than the hours we would save, and Rep AI is the better fit. This argument only works for teams who genuinely do not have the hours.

How well does each one know your products and policies?

Both tools ground answers in store data rather than generic knowledge. Rep AI syncs the storefront catalogue automatically and ingests help centre content and FAQs. BotSupport is grounded in your live catalogue, so prices, stock and product details are drawn from the store itself rather than a static copy. The difference is process rather than technology: BotSupport's answers and policy responses are set up and checked by a person before launch, whereas we found no documented human review step before go-live on the self-serve route.

Automatic ingestion is fast and it scales, and Rep AI appears to do it well on Shopify. But automatic ingestion inherits whatever is wrong or ambiguous in the source. If your returns policy page contradicts your FAQ, or a product description still promises next-day delivery you stopped offering last spring, an ingesting assistant will repeat it confidently. This is not a flaw unique to any one vendor. It is the standing weakness of the approach, and it is why the quality of your own content matters more than most buyers expect.

Public reviews suggest the practical failure modes are the ones you would predict. Prospeo's write-up reports that "customers can get stuck in AI loops without a clear path to a human agent", attributing this to multiple G2 reviewers rather than to its own testing. We have not independently verified those underlying reviews, so treat it as a reported theme rather than a documented defect, and read the current App Store and G2 reviews yourself before drawing conclusions. Set against that, the overall listing rating stood at 4.7 out of 5 on 6 August 2026, so whatever the loop problem's frequency, it is clearly not most people's experience.

BotSupport's answer to the grounding problem is human review before launch rather than after. We check the policy answers against what the business actually does, test the awkward questions, and set the escalation path deliberately so that a customer who needs a person reaches one. That is not a claim of superior technology, and we would not make one. It is a claim about sequence: someone reads the answers before your customers do. We are Early Access, so treat that as our stated method rather than as a measured outcome, and test it during a trial.

Credit where it belongs on handover mechanics, because Rep AI's are good. Conversations pass to human agents with history and a summary and route into your existing helpdesk, and the integrations page lists Gorgias, Zendesk, Kustomer, Richpanel, Freshdesk, Help Scout and Salesforce Service Cloud. If you already run one of those, that pipeline is more mature than anything a young product can offer, and integration maturity is not something enthusiasm substitutes for.

Who should honestly choose Rep AI instead?

Choose Rep AI if you are a higher-traffic Shopify or Shopify Plus store, want proactive behaviour-triggered selling rather than reactive support, already run Gorgias, Zendesk or Klaviyo and want conversations flowing into them, need order actions on Shopify data, want social and messaging channels, or want a product with a verifiable public history: a Shopify App Store listing since April 2022 and 92 public reviews as of 6 August 2026.

There are several situations in which Rep AI is straightforwardly the better buy, and pretending otherwise would make everything else on this page worth less.

If conversion is the goal rather than support deflection, Rep AI is built for that and BotSupport is not. The behavioural triggering, the in-chat product carousels and the one-click add to basket are genuine sales machinery aimed at a problem we do not solve. A support-led assistant that answers well does not replace a tool designed to intervene at the moment a shopper wavers. If your bottleneck is basket abandonment rather than inbox volume, we are the wrong shop.

If you are already deep in the Shopify ecosystem with a helpdesk, an SMS platform and a reviews app, Rep AI's integration breadth matters more than anything else on this page. Conversation data landing in Klaviyo and tickets landing in Gorgias without you building the plumbing is worth real money, and its integrations page as of 6 August 2026 lists considerably more connectors than we have.

If you need social and messaging channels, Rep AI's integrations page lists Instagram, Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp. BotSupport is a website assistant, so those conversations are outside our scope entirely.

And if maturity matters to your risk tolerance, be clear-eyed about the asymmetry. Rep AI has been listed on the Shopify App Store since April 2022 and had 92 public reviews when we checked on 6 August 2026. BotSupport is at Early Access stage with essentially no customer base yet, no case studies and no deployment history. If you need references, a track record and other people's scars to learn from, that is a completely legitimate reason to choose Rep AI, and we are not going to argue you out of it.

How do you trial both, or switch between them?

Both offer a free trial, so run them in sequence on comparable traffic rather than at the same time. Rep AI's pricing page and its Shopify App Store listing both showed a 14-day free trial on 6 August 2026, on all plans except the free-to-install Pay-as-you-Grow tier. BotSupport includes a free trial period during Early Access. Judge each against the same 20 real customer questions taken from your own inbox.

Running two chat widgets at once produces a poor customer experience and unusable data, so do not do it. Trial one, then the other, over comparable weeks, and avoid straddling a sale period, because a traffic spike distorts both the answer quality you observe and the bill you would have paid.

Before either trial, pull 20 real questions from your last month of email and chat. Include the awkward ones deliberately: a delivery exception, a sizing edge case, a returns question your policy page does not cleanly answer, a product comparison across two similar SKUs, and something a customer asked badly. Those questions are your test set. Marketing demos pass easy questions by design, and so will both products.

Then measure four things honestly. How many of the 20 were answered correctly without waffle. How many hours your own team spent to reach that point, counted properly rather than remembered generously. How cleanly a customer who needed a human reached one, which you should test by trying to escalate yourself mid-conversation. And what the bill would have been in your busiest month rather than an average one. For Rep AI, model that busiest month with the USD 12 per 1,000 visitor overage included, using your own analytics rather than a guess.

Switching between them is not technically painful in either direction. Both are a widget on the storefront, so removal means uninstalling an app or deleting a script. The thing that does not port is the tuning work. If you have spent a month optimising a self-serve tool, that investment stays where it was spent. That asymmetry is a mild argument for testing the managed option first, while the sunk cost is still nil, though we would say that.

Where does each one genuinely fall short?

Themes we saw recurring in public reviews and third-party write-ups about Rep AI as of August 2026 were: Shopify-centric platform support, visitor-based pricing that rises with traffic, roughly a month of optimisation despite fast-setup marketing, ongoing brand-voice and edge-case tuning, reported cases of shoppers looping without reaching a human, and no phone or voice channel documented on its integrations page. BotSupport's limitations are structural: no self-serve tier, website chat only, a far shorter integration list, and no deployment track record at all.

Rep AI's weaknesses follow directly from its strengths, which is usually the sign of a coherent product rather than a bad one. A sales-first proactive agent is not a full helpdesk, and Ringly's June 2026 roundup makes exactly that point, listing "Chat-only: No phone support channel" among its drawbacks. We found no phone or voice channel documented on Rep AI's own integrations page on 6 August 2026 either, though absence from a marketing page is not proof that no partner route exists. The visitor meter that keeps pricing simple is also what makes it volatile. The automated setup that makes installation painless is precisely what leaves the tuning to you.

BotSupport's weaknesses are equally structural and rather less flattering. There is no self-serve option, so if you want to try it yourself at midnight without speaking to a human being, you cannot. It is a website assistant, so Instagram, WhatsApp and phone sit outside its scope. Its integration list is short next to a claimed 175-plus. And it is Early Access, which means no case studies, no awards, no adoption figures and no long list of stores to ring for a reference, because inventing any of those would make everything else on this page worthless.

The comparison comes down to a single question with an unglamorous answer. If you have a person with genuine time to build and maintain an AI assistant, and you are on Shopify with meaningful traffic, Rep AI gives that person considerably more to work with, and a public track record to check first. If you do not have that person, a fully managed assistant, grounded in your live catalogue and built for you rather than by you, is the more realistic path. We are Early Access, so judge that claim on the trial, not on our say-so.

How we checked this comparison

Every figure on this page was checked on 6 August 2026 against Rep AI's own website, its Shopify App Store listing and its public reviews, plus three third-party write-ups that we name and date inline. Vendor claims are labelled as vendor claims. Third-party claims are attributed to the publication that made them. Where sources contradict each other, we show the contradiction rather than choosing the version that flatters us.

We are a competitor writing about a competitor, so the method matters more than the conclusion. Prices, ratings, review counts, launch dates and platform support came from Rep AI's own pricing, platform and integrations pages and from its Shopify App Store listing, all read on 6 August 2026. Every one of those can change the week after publication, which is why each figure carries a date and a link.

The three third-party sources we cite, Prospeo, SalesRobot and Ringly, are named and dated wherever we use them. All three publish alternatives or comparison content of their own, which makes them commercially interested rather than neutral. We have quoted them rather than paraphrased them so you can judge the wording yourself, and we have not treated any of their claims as verified fact. Where a third-party figure conflicted with Rep AI's own listing, we said so and went with the listing.

Some things we could not verify, and those have been cut rather than softened into something that sounds authoritative. Where you see hedged wording on this page, it is because the evidence was thinner than a flat statement would imply. If you find anything here that is out of date or wrong, tell us and we will correct it, because a comparison page that misstates a rival's prices is worse than no comparison page at all.

Which should you choose?

Choose BotSupport if

Choose BotSupport if you run a WooCommerce, Shopify or bespoke store and have nobody with spare hours to build, train and maintain an AI assistant. A person builds it on your live catalogue, prices and policies, tests it, and hands it over working, with a target of one working day during Early Access, for a flat fee of around GBP 79 a month. You are buying a finished assistant and ongoing upkeep rather than a tool to configure. Accept the trade-offs honestly: no self-serve tier, website chat only, a much shorter integration list, and no deployment track record yet. We are Early Access, so test the claim on a trial rather than taking our word for it.

Choose Rep AI if

Choose Rep AI if you are a higher-traffic Shopify or Shopify Plus brand focused on conversion rather than support deflection, and you have someone who will own the tool. Its behavioural triggering, in-chat product carousels and add-to-basket are real sales machinery that a support-led assistant does not replace, and its integration depth with Gorgias, Zendesk, Klaviyo and WhatsApp is far ahead of ours. It also has a public track record we do not: listed on the Shopify App Store since April 2022 and rated 4.7 out of 5 from 92 reviews when we checked on 6 August 2026. Budget for visitor-based pricing that rises with traffic, including the USD 12 per 1,000 visitor overage on the listed tiers, and for the month of tuning that third-party reviews describe.

Questions

What is Rep AI and who is it for?

Rep AI, at hellorep.ai, is an AI sales and support agent for ecommerce, sold mainly through the Shopify App Store, where the listing gives a launch date of 18 April 2022. It uses behavioural signals to open chats with hesitating shoppers, recommends products in-chat, and its platform page says it handles order tracking, cancellations, returns, exchanges and address modifications. Its visitor-based pricing tiers scale to 50,000 monthly visitors on the published plans, with larger volumes quoted, which suggests it is aimed at higher-traffic stores.

How much does Rep AI cost?

When we checked on 6 August 2026, Rep AI's own pricing page listed no prices and directed visitors to a trial, an ROI calculator or a demo. Published tiers appear on its Shopify App Store listing: a free-to-install Pay-as-you-Grow option with 100 visitors a month, then Starter, Basic and Standard at USD 104, 209 and 368 per month, covering up to 10,000, 25,000 and 50,000 monthly visitors. Annual billing was shown as USD 995, 2,006 and 3,528 for a stated 20 per cent saving, so the monthly rates are the higher of the two. Each listed tier shows an overage of USD 12 per additional 1,000 visitors. Prices change, so check the listing before budgeting.

Does Rep AI work with WooCommerce?

It is unclear, and Rep AI's own pages disagree. On 6 August 2026 its integrations page listed WooCommerce, while its platform page listed Shopify, Shopify Plus and Salesforce Commerce Cloud as available and said WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento and SAP Commerce were "rolling out this year". Three third-party write-ups published in 2026 describe the product as Shopify-only, though all three also publish alternatives lists and are commercially interested. We found no plugin listed on WordPress.org. If you run WooCommerce, ask Rep AI in writing which specific order actions work on your stack today, before you trial.

Is Rep AI priced per resolution or per seat?

Neither, on the published plans. Rep AI meters on monthly site visitors rather than on conversations, resolutions or agent seats, so your bill tracks traffic rather than workload and a sale or seasonal spike raises the cost whether or not those visitors use the chat. Each listed tier shows an overage of USD 12 per additional 1,000 visitors; terms on the quoted higher tiers are not published, so we cannot say how they work. Ringly's June 2026 roundup names session-based pricing as making costs hard to budget, and some reviewers have flagged the same thing.

How long does Rep AI take to set up?

Installation appears to be genuinely fast: the vendor's pricing page advertised "Live in 6 clicks" on 6 August 2026, and App Store reviewers praise the low technical effort. Reaching good performance takes longer. Prospeo's write-up says that despite fast-setup marketing, "reviewers say it takes roughly a month to optimize properly", and SalesRobot's review of 17 April 2026 says that "dialing in brand voice and edge cases is an ongoing project". Both are third-party opinions rather than measurements.

What are Rep AI's main limitations?

Themes recurring across public reviews and third-party write-ups as of August 2026 were: Shopify-centric platform support, with WooCommerce described by the vendor as rolling out; visitor-based pricing that rises with traffic, plus a USD 12 per 1,000 visitor overage on the listed tiers; roughly a month of optimisation despite fast-setup marketing; ongoing brand-voice and edge-case tuning; reported cases of shoppers looping without a clear route to a human; and no phone or voice channel documented on its integrations page. Balance those against a 4.7 out of 5 rating from 92 reviews on its Shopify listing when we checked on 6 August 2026, which is a strong overall reception.

Can I trial BotSupport and Rep AI at the same time?

You can trial both, but not simultaneously. Two chat widgets on one storefront produce a poor customer experience and unusable comparison data. Run them in sequence over comparable weeks, avoiding a sale period, using the same set of 20 real questions pulled from your own inbox, and model the cost of your busiest month rather than an average one. Rep AI's pricing page and App Store listing both showed a 14-day free trial on 6 August 2026; BotSupport includes a free trial period during Early Access.

Is Rep AI the same as Rep.ai the B2B live chat tool?

No. Two different products use similar names. Rep AI at hellorep.ai is the ecommerce sales and support agent described on this page. A separate product formerly known as ServiceBell operates at rep.ai and is aimed at B2B website visitor identification and video chat. Check the domain before comparing pricing or reviews, because the two are frequently confused in directory listings and comparison articles, including some of the third-party pages cited here.

  3. Rep AI Shopify App Store reviews — Checked 6 August 2026. Source for the verbatim one-star review of 25 February 2026 quoted in the pricing section, and for recurring praise of setup ease.
  4. Rep AI platform page — Checked 6 August 2026. Vendor statement that Shopify, Shopify Plus and Salesforce Commerce Cloud are available and that "WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento, and SAP Commerce are rolling out this year"; also the agentic order actions wording.
  5. Rep AI integrations page — Checked 6 August 2026. Lists WooCommerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud and Shopify; helpdesk, marketing and messaging integrations; the 175+ integrations claim; no phone or voice channel listed.
  6. Rep AI AI Support Agent page — Checked 6 August 2026. Source for the vendor self-reported figures quoted verbatim: "5x ROI guarantee", "50%-70% reduction in support tickets with AI live chat", "up to 97% of inquiries are resolved automatically with AI running 24/7".
  7. Rep AI homepage — Checked 6 August 2026. Used to verify the ROI and ticket-reduction guarantee wording. We found no claim on this page about the number of shopper sessions behind the behavioural model, so an earlier draft's figure was removed.
  8. Rep.ai Pricing, Reviews, Pros & Cons (Prospeo) — Third-party write-up, accessed 6 August 2026. Source for "roughly a month to optimize properly", "exclusively a Shopify app as of 2026", and the report of G2 reviewers describing AI loops. Its month-to-month prices (USD 99/199/350) and product caps did not match the App Store listing and are marked unverified in the text. Prospeo publishes alternatives content and is not a neutral party.
  9. Rep.ai Review (SalesRobot), 17 April 2026 — Third-party review, accessed 6 August 2026. Source for "Shopify-exclusive AI chatbot", the brand-voice tuning quote, and quoted module pricing (sales agent USD 550, support agent USD 250, concierge bundle USD 660 per month) which we could not verify against the vendor. SalesRobot publishes competing tooling content.
  10. 7 best HelloRep alternatives (Ringly.io), 3 June 2026 — Third-party roundup, accessed 6 August 2026. Source for "Chat-only: No phone support channel", "Shopify-only: Doesn't work with WooCommerce, Magento, or custom platforms", "session-based pricing" budgeting criticism, and "not designed as a comprehensive helpdesk". Ringly sells a competing product, so this is an interested source.
